H1N1 VACCINATION BLITZ SET TO BEGIN

(EL PASO, TX) January 15, 2009 – El Pasoans will have more opportunities to receive their H1N1 vaccinations beginning Tuesday, January 19. Through partnerships with the El Paso, Ysleta, Socorro, and other school districts in the borderland, Immunize El Paso will be conducting rounds of H1N1 clinics at area high schools.

Vaccinations clinics will be open to the public without restrictions. Anyone over 6 months of age can get protected against H1N1 Flu. Clinics will be open on a first-come, first-served basis with no need for an appointment.

“School clinics offer the most convenience to get yourself and your children protected” said Dusty Warden, outreach coordinator for Immunize El Paso. “

H1N1 vaccinations will be available in the injectable (shot) as well as the nasal mist form. There will be no price difference between the H1N1 shot and the nasal mist, which is provided at no cost to those with Medicare, Children’s Medicaid and CHIP. Many private insurance are also accepted.
